INCT Klimapolis, committed to advancing scientific solutions for the promotion of sustainable and resilient cities, is developing a series of new initiatives aimed at addressing climate change through adaptation, mitigation, and innovative urban practices, such as Real-World Experiments.
With the goal of strengthening collaboration among researchers, public managers, and civil society, these initiatives seek to expand the Institute’s impact at both local and national levels, creating collaborative spaces where innovative solutions to urban challenges can be tested and implemented.
These laboratories will function as innovation hubs, bringing together diverse stakeholders to co-create practices that integrate sustainability, technology, and social inclusion. The aim is to respond effectively to climate challenges by promoting urban development that prioritizes equity, resilience, and sustainability.
Through strategic partnerships, the Institute encourages the exchange of best practices and the development of joint projects that address issues such as air pollution monitoring, water resource management, and climate adaptation.
To systematize this scientific content, one of the key outputs will be the Klimapolis Platform, which will enable real-time access to articles and environmental and climate indicators for Brazilian cities. The platform will provide essential data and analyses to support informed decision-making, benefiting both scientific research and public management, so that scientific knowledge and innovation become key tools for transforming Brazilian cities.
