Plataform Klimapolis

High-quality information on climate change is produced daily by researchers around the world. However, this knowledge often remains confined to academic environments, making it difficult for public managers, organizations, urban planners, and communicators to access. Limited access to reliable content negatively affects the resilience capacity of cities, states, and countries.

INCT Klimapolis is developing its own platform to facilitate access to climate change information. In addition to improving accessibility, the platform will allow users to visualize the spatial distribution of studies across the national territory, by theme and type. It is expected to enable the identification of areas that are more and less studied, disaggregated by topic, throughout the country. The Klimapolis WebGIS platform will function as a central hub of information, hosting everything from scientific articles to references to qualified databases on the subject. Users will be able to apply geopolitical and textual filters to locate publications.

Built with modern mapping technologies and a minimalist design, the platform currently features a unique integration with Brazil’s national Lattes curriculum platform. The information obtained is enriched with data from the Scopus scientific database (Elsevier). Subsequently, these data are classified by theme and location using artificial intelligence algorithms and then made available on the platform.
