Cross-cutting Themes

INCT Klimapolis has three Cross-Cutting Themes that promote integration and collaboration among its five research sub-networks. These themes are essential for fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, strengthening knowledge dissemination, and expanding the impact of the Institute’s activities. Each theme contributes to the development of sustainable and resilient urban solutions in the face of climate change, addressing challenges common to all research areas.

The themes range from scientific outreach and social engagement activities, with an emphasis on creating communication, education, and indicator tools that are clear and accessible, facilitating public understanding of research results and promoting social learning.

There is also a strong focus on expanding and strengthening the INCT Klimapolis collaboration network, both nationally and internationally. Consolidating this network is fundamental to promoting the exchange of knowledge and innovative practices across different regions and countries. Through strategic partnerships, INCT Klimapolis seeks to broaden its reach by integrating new institutions and fostering international cooperation in research aimed at sustainability and urban resilience.

These three Cross-Cutting Themes are essential to the success of INCT Klimapolis’ activities, ensuring that the interdisciplinary research conducted by the Institute has a lasting impact on building cities that are better adapted and more resilient to climate change.
